Northeast Ohio Lighting Partners
Professional Exterior Lighting Installation in Cleveland, OH
Northeast Ohio Lighting Partners brings professional-grade LED lighting installation to local homes and businesses. Holiday displays, permanent systems, commercial properties - one call, one crew, done right.
Expert Lighting Services in Cleveland
Northeast Ohio Lighting Partners is the professional lighting contractor serving Cleveland and the surrounding Cleveland Metro area - from the west-side suburbs of Westlake, Rocky River, and Avon to the east-side communities of Shaker Heights, Beachwood, and Chagrin Falls. Our crews handle everything from custom holiday lighting displays to permanent LED architectural systems - on time, on spec, with the commercial-grade equipment and insurance to match.
The west and east sides of the Cleveland market see genuinely different winters. The east side, on the Lake Erie snowbelt, carries heavier and more frequent snow load than the west side. We schedule east-side properties earlier in the season and design for the extra weight and ice accumulation their rooflines take on.
Every job starts with a free on-site walk. We quote the work straight, show up when we say we will, and stand behind the install through the full season.

The Cleveland Market: West Side vs. Snowbelt East Side
Cleveland is not one weather zone. The lakefront and west-side suburbs - Westlake, Rocky River, Bay Village, Avon, and Avon Lake - sit outside the heaviest lake-effect band and generally see a shorter, more predictable snow season. Cross east of downtown into Shaker Heights, Beachwood, Pepper Pike, Solon, Chagrin Falls, and Hudson, and you are in the direct path of lake-effect snow rolling off Erie. Those east-side properties routinely carry more total snow load across a season, and the storms arrive with less warning. We plan installation order around this split every year: east-side jobs get scheduled earlier so crews are off those rooflines before the heaviest bands set up, and our clip hardware and spacing on east-side homes is chosen for the extra weight those roofs carry through January and February.
This isn't a marketing distinction - it changes how we sequence the calendar. A property in Westlake and a property in Chagrin Falls booked the same week will often get different install dates because the risk window is different. If you are unsure which side of that line your property falls on, tell us your zip code and we'll walk you through exactly how we're planning your install date.
Slate, Tile, and Historic Material Handling
The east-side estate markets - Shaker Heights, Pepper Pike, Beachwood - have a disproportionate number of slate and clay tile roofs, and Hudson and Chagrin Falls carry a lot of original brick and wood trim on homes built well before modern fastening methods existed. None of these surfaces tolerate nails, staples, or generic big-box clips. We run a dedicated slate-and-tile clip system that seats against the lap of the tile rather than piercing it, and a separate fascia-grip system for brick and historic wood trim that distributes load across the clip rather than concentrating it at a single point. This is a specialty service most national franchise operators in the area do not offer, because it requires slower, more deliberate install work than asphalt shingle roofs. If your home has a slate, tile, copper, or cedar shake roof, mention it when you call - it changes our crew assignment and the hardware we bring.
Commercial and HOA Lighting in the Cleveland Corporate Corridors
Commercial work is a substantial part of what we do in this market. Westlake's Crocker Park and Detroit Road corridor, the Class A office buildings along I-90, and the retail centers and corporate campuses in Solon and Beachwood all carry annual lighting contracts with us - holiday displays timed to opening weekend traffic, permanent architectural lighting for year-round brand presence, and HOA-wide programs where every property in a development gets a coordinated look. Property managers get one point of contact for design, install, in-season service calls, and takedown, instead of chasing multiple vendors every year.
Permanent LED Lighting in Cleveland
Permanent lighting is the fastest-growing part of our Cleveland business. A thin LED channel installs once along the roofline, eave, soffit, or architectural feature and disappears during the day - no visible bulbs, no seasonal string lights. From a phone app you switch it to warm white for the holidays, orange for Halloween, scarlet and gray for an Ohio State game, or any color for a birthday or graduation. Because dry install conditions matter more for permanent systems than for holiday hangs, we book the bulk of Cleveland permanent installs April through September, ahead of the lake-effect season, though we can install later in the year if the weather cooperates.

Cleveland Exterior Lighting FAQs
- We cover Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Lorain, and Summit counties. That includes the west side suburbs like Westlake, Avon, Avon Lake, Bay Village, Rocky River, Lakewood, and Strongsville, plus the east side communities of Shaker Heights, Beachwood, Pepper Pike, Solon, Chagrin Falls, Hudson, and Mentor. If you are within the Cleveland metro, we likely serve you. Call us with your zip code to confirm.
- Lake-effect off Erie is the biggest variable in our season. We install the bulk of our jobs October through early December before the worst of it settles in. All of our lights and clips are commercial grade and rated for heavy snow loads, freezing rain, and the kind of wind that comes off the lake. If a storm knocks something loose during the season, that is what our in-season service calls are for.
- Yes. Slate is common across the east side and we have specific clip systems and techniques designed for slate, copper, and cedar shake roofs. We never use nails or staples on these surfaces. Our installers are trained to map the roofline so the clips disappear during the day and the lights look perfect at night, with no damage to historic materials.
- Old brick and original wood trim need careful handling. We use clip systems that grip the fascia or eaves without piercing brick or damaging weathered trim. For homes on the National Register or in protected historic districts, we will coordinate with your historical society or design review board if needed.
- Sooner the better. Our calendar from mid October through Thanksgiving fills first, and once lake-effect snow starts the install window narrows fast. We recommend booking by Labor Day for guaranteed pre-Thanksgiving install. After that we do our best but cannot promise specific dates.
- Commercial is a major part of our business. We run annual contracts for retail centers, office parks, restaurants, multi-tenant buildings, and HOAs. Many of our larger clients are in the corporate corridors of Westlake, Solon, and Beachwood. We handle scheduling, design, install, in-season service, and takedown so property managers can stop chasing it.
- Permanent lighting is a thin LED channel installed once along your roofline, eaves, soffits, or other architectural features. It is designed to disappear during the day. You control it from a smartphone app, so you can run warm white for the holidays, orange for Halloween, scarlet and gray for an OSU game, or blue and gold for graduation. Installed once, used 365 days a year.
- Permanent installs are best done in dry weather, so we book the bulk of these from April through September. We can install later in the year but lake-effect snow and freezing temperatures slow the work down. If you want it ready before the holidays, book by early September at the latest.
- We start takedowns in early January and finish through February depending on weather. You do not need to be home. Our crew handles everything, stores your lights at our facility, and books your reinstall date for next season before they leave.
- Call or text and we will come out and fix it at no charge. This is included in every install. Northeast Ohio winter is hard on lights, and we expect to be on site a few times during the season to swap an occasional bulb or re-secure a clip after a storm. That is built into how we operate.
- Yes. We carry full general liability and workers compensation coverage. Every crew member is W-2 and trained in our installation systems. We never sub out the climbing or the electrical work to day labor.
- They are built for it. The LED diodes and channel housings are rated for full outdoor exposure including UV in summer, freeze-thaw cycles through fall and spring, and the heaviest lake-effect snow loads in winter. The system has a multi-year warranty and we service it locally.
